For a courier running 30 to 100 stops, the paid plan price matters most. Prices checked October 2026. Sources: Spoke (formerly Circuit), RoadWarrior, Spoke App Store listing, Spoke Route Planner features, Spoke help center. Prices change; check before you buy.

A courier’s day is not one list

If you run your own courier business, your day probably looks like this:

  • a regular morning run for one or two business clients,
  • a handful of booked same-day jobs with deadlines,
  • a few calls that come in while you are already on the road.

You need a plan that respects the fixed parts and still bends when the phone rings.

Build the day’s route in one go

Start the evening before or first thing in the morning.

  1. Import the jobs. Export your bookings as a CSV, paste a list of addresses or scan a printed manifest with your camera. Each address becomes a stop.
  2. Add the details that matter. For each stop you can set notes, a phone number, a package count and where the package sits in the van. With Pro you can add a time window too.
  3. Set your start and end. Your depot or home to start, and wherever you want to finish.
  4. Tap Optimize. The route takes your time windows and first and last stops into account.

Regular clients go in your address book so you do not retype them. Free accounts can save 100 addresses. Pro has no limit.

Time windows, first and last

Couriers live by deadlines. Use both tools:

  • Time windows for jobs that must arrive between set times, like “before 10:30” or “13:00 to 15:00”.
  • First or last for a job that should open or close the day without a hard window, like a medical lab drop first thing.

If a client calls to move a window, edit the stop. The route re-times right away and you can see if the rest of the day still works.

Load the van to match the route

Once the order is set, load the van in reverse. Last drops deep inside, first drops by the doors.

Use the package location field on each stop: “Shelf B2”, “Floor left”, “Cab”. Add a package count when a stop has several parcels. When you arrive, the stop card tells you where to reach.

Tap Navigate and the stop opens in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. You keep live traffic and lane guidance. All three run on CarPlay and Android Auto.

Proof of delivery

Business clients ask for proof more often than consumers do. At each drop, mark the stop delivered and take a photo. If no one is there, mark it failed with a reason and retry later, or move on. Your route history keeps the record, so you can answer “did it arrive?” in seconds.

When a new job comes in

This is where many planners fall down. In SoloRoute:

  • Add the new stop from search or your address book.
  • Re-optimize what is left, or drag the new stop to where you want it.
  • Check the updated arrival times for the stops with windows.

If you realize the afternoon works better in the other direction, reverse route flips it in one tap on Pro.

Free or Pro for couriers

A small courier run fits the free plan: 20 stops per route and 20 new stops per day. Most working couriers need more. Pro is $7.99 a month for up to 100 stops per route, unlimited saved addresses, reverse route, time windows and photo proof of delivery.

For reference, as of October 2026 Spoke charges $9.99 a month for Lite and $19.99 for Standard, and RoadWarrior charges $14.99 a month. If you are a one-person business, that difference covers a tank of fuel over a few months.

When another tool fits better

If you run a team of couriers and need dispatch, live tracking for customers or driver assignment, you need a fleet tool. SoloRoute is built for one driver planning their own day, and it keeps that job simple.

Try it with tomorrow’s jobs

Install SoloRoute (free for 20 stops per route) and paste tomorrow’s addresses to see the optimized order. Package locations and notes are included. Pro adds time windows and photo proof of delivery.

Questions

Can I import my jobs from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Export your jobs as a CSV from your spreadsheet or booking system and import the file. You can also paste a list of addresses or scan a printed manifest with your camera.

Does SoloRoute handle time windows?

Yes, with Pro. Add a time window to any stop and the optimizer plans around it. If you edit a window later, the route re-times itself.

Can I prove a delivery to a client?

Yes, with Pro. Take a photo at each drop as proof of delivery. It is stored with the stop in your route history.

How many stops can I plan?

Up to 20 stops per route on the free plan. Pro is $7.99 a month and allows up to 100 stops per route.

Can I plan pickups and drops in the same route?

You can add pickup locations as stops with a note and a time window, or pin one as the first stop, so they land at the right point in the day. SoloRoute has no separate pickup type: every location is a stop.
